3 Ways to Embrace Your Inner Awesomeness


There’s no doubt about it – you have a lot to offer the world, whether it’s your witty sense of humor, your way of caring for others, your outgoing personality, or another characteristic that just makes you, you. Sometimes, it can be difficult to recognize just how awesome you really are. With the new year in full swing, it’s the perfect time to show yourself some love and embrace who you truly are, inside and out. Not sure how? Here are three simple ways to live your truth and embrace your inner awesomeness.

  • Express Yourself Creatively

Freedom of self-expression is something that we often take for granted. Fear of being judged or ridiculed for showing the world who you really are can stand in the way of living your life how you want to live it! Don’t be afraid to express yourself through a craft that you’re passionate about, whether it’s art, music, writing, dance, or another creative outlet. Doing something that you love is a great way to blow off some steam, express your emotions, and show the world – and yourself – what you’re made of. At the end of the day, what matters is that you’re doing something that makes you feel happy and fulfilled!

  • Practice Self-Care

Another way to show yourself just how awesome you are, is by fitting self-care into your daily routine. Do you have a busy work schedule? Make time in the mornings to exercise or enjoy a wholesome breakfast, or decompress in the evenings by cozying up in your comfiest loungewear or reading a new book. If you struggle to make time for yourself on a daily basis, try pampering yourself in subtle ways throughout the day. It could be as simple as wearing a cozy sweatshirt with a comfortable, supportive bra. Or maybe jamming out to your favorite song on the radio while treating yourself to a coffee from a local cafe. Self-care comes in many shapes and forms, and only you can decide how to show yourself the love you deserve!

  • Try Something New

Doing what you love and what you’re passionate about is one of the best ways to embrace your true self. But trying something new can be just as beneficial! Stepping outside of your comfort zone and doing something you’ve never done before – like taking a cooking class, practicing yoga, or traveling to a new destination – can show yourself exactly what you’re capable of. If you spend your whole life holding back, and wondering “what if”, you’ll never know what you could have accomplished. Pushing your limits by trying something new can help you get to know yourself better, and offer you a new perspective on the world.

For many people, the idea of embracing who you really are can be difficult, nerve wracking, and even scary. And it’s true – coming to terms with who you are can be a process, mixed with different emotions. But when push comes to shove, there’s only one you – so it’s important to embrace your individuality, and love yourself for who you are – because who you are, is awesome!
