I am so happy to introduce to you Carla Henderson , who lives in Auckland , New Zealand with her family.Carla is a freelance make up artist and lives by the Golden Rule- “To make life enjoyable without harming others or the future.“She is a contemporary artist , humanist , liberal and nature loving person.
Carla is a bit like me and loves spending time on Facebook, so this is how we got in touch and discovered a lot in common.
Here are Carla’s answers and I hope you learn something new from them.
1.How long have you been vegan for? Carla :”Almost a year now”.
2.What made you go vegan? Carla :”Information from personal friends and FB….waking up to the horrors of the meat and dairy industry.”
3.Do you take any supplements? Carla :”1 Multi vitamin, Glucosamine, flax seed oil tablets. I was taking these before I became vegan because I have an immune disorder, Sjogren’s Syndrome.”
4.What are your favourite vegan dishes? Carla :”I absolutely love vegan food, all fruits and veggies, the nuts and grains, there’s just such a variety of delicious food I don’t feel deprived of anything. My husband and I are enjoying our meals more than ever!”
5.What is your advice to new vegans?Carla:” It’s a great adventure full of culinary delights. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t be healthy and that you won’t get enough protein….not true! Talk to other vegans, get some good info and recipes, it’s not difficult….enjoy!”
6. What books would you recommend to new vegans? Carla:”1,000 Vegan Recipes by Robin Roberts”.
7.If you had a magic wand what would be the one thing, that you would change in the world?Carla :” That there was equality and peace for all life… no one hungry, no one persecuted, no living thing treated like a commodity.
