Raw Food Detox,Why Raw Food?

5 Best Detoxifying Foods

As I am approaching the raw food detox I thought I make list with the best detoxifying foods.I will be increasing drastically the amount of raw foods in my diet, as I wont be eating any rice, pasta , potatoes or breads. Also there won’t be any salt, sugar or olive oil at all.

My  body will be eliminating  toxins – in any way it can.As I have never done a detox in my life I believe, that going vegan has build a good foundation and I will enjoy the detox and also will experience what is like to be a RAW VEGAN.

So here is a list of some of the top detoxifying foods.

best detoxifying foods-beetrootBeetroot

I am sure you love them! Beets are full of vitamins B3, B6, C and beta-carotene. They’re also a valuable source of iron, magnesium, zinc and calcium — all necessary to promote optimal detoxification and elimination. Beets also support good gallbladder and liver health — organs that are paramount for breaking down and removing toxins. The high amount of fibre in beetroot improves digestion and helps eliminate bodily waste.

best detoxifying foods -sea vegetables Sea Vegetables

Often known as seaweeds, these amazing foods house powerful antioxidants that help to alkalize the blood and strengthen the digestive tract. The algin in seaweeds absorb toxins from the digestive tract in much the same way a water softener removes the hardness from tap water. Sea vegetables offer the broadest range of minerals of any food, containing virtually all the minerals found in the ocean — the same minerals that are found in human blood. On a personal level during the raw vegan detox I will be taking spirulina powder mixed with water every day.

best detoxifying foods -broccoli

Broccoli is part of the powerhouse brassica family of vegetables. Broccoli contains important phytochemicals that are released when they’re chopped, chewed, fermented, cooked or digested. I am gonna definitely be adding lots of broccoli in my salads, I have already doubled my order from the farm for the next 3 weeks.

best detoxifying foods -flax seeds Flax seed
One of my favourite “super foods,” flax seeds serve many purposes. When detoxifying your body, it’s essential to ensure toxins are eliminated properly. Ground flax seeds provide a wonderful source of fiber that helps to bind and flush toxins from the intestinal tract. They’re also a great source of health promoting omega 3 oils. I will be starting every morning with a cup of lemon water  with a spoonful of milled flax seeds .

best detoxifying foods-lemons Lemons
Who doesn’t love lemon? This wonderful fruit stimulates the release of enzymes and helps convert toxins into a water-soluble form that can be easily excreted from the body. Drinking lemon water, which is alkaline-forming, first thing in the morning will help to balance out the acidity of foods we’ve consumed. I will be using lots of lemons to dress my vegetables , as during the detox I won’t take any salt or oils in my salads, so I will be making different lemon and herb dressings.

Those are just a few of the foods, that will help you detoxify. Its important to keep your fridge stock up with lots of raw green vegetables , that can be turned into a salad, juiced or just as a snack. In the next few days I will be making a list of most of the foods, including some fruits , nuts and seeds.

Hope you find this post useful and find an inspiration to include those amazing foods in your diet.
